CREC-10 Company Celebrates the Beginning of Work Contract at CMOC Brasil

On the May 1st, which will mark the beginning of the activities of CREC-10 at CMOC Brasil, the entire board and some employees of the two companies gathered at Mina Boa Vista, in Catalão/GO, to celebrate this partnership.

CREC-10 is a Chinese state-owned company, a subsidiary of China Railway Group, a large corporate conglomerate in engineering research, design and construction, industrial equipment manufacturing, real estate development, resource and mining development and financial investment, among other fields.

At CMOC, the new contractor will assume the contracts for the Mine Movement projects, the De-characterization of the 1A\1B Dam, and the Phosphate Reforestation project. With extensive experience in management and technology in the area of construction and infrastructure, the company invested in new and modern equipment, and has a dedicated staff of 650 employees.

The solemnity, held to mark the beginning of the contract, was attended by executives from both companies: the Executive Director of CMOC Brasil Mr. Zhijie Zhang, the Director of Corporate Affairs Mr. Eduardo Lima, the Director of Niobium Mr. Du Zhijie, and the Director General of CREC-10 in Latin America Mr. Sun. The event also had the special presence of the mayor of Catalão, Mr. Adib Elias.

In the opening speech, Mr. Zhang highlighted the importance of Chinese companies increasingly investing in Brazil, citing the country as a place rich in mineral resources and great growth opportunities. “CMOC Brasil has, over the last five years, actively contributed to economic and social development, generating employment and tax revenue for the municipalities in which it operates.  We want to become a model of China-Basil economic and trade cooperation, bring mutual benefits and win-win results,” said the Executive Director of CMOC Brasil.

Then, mayor Adib Elias was invited to welcome the new company. In his speech, he recalled that the economic development of Catalão dates back to the 70s, with the discovery of mineral resources in the region. Today, the city is a reference in mineral production in the state of Goiás. The mayor took the opportunity to reinforce the relevance of the investments that CMOC has made in the municipality, and to highlight the learning opportunities that can come from the integration of Brazilian and Chinese cultures. “We need to understand the importance of the relationship between the countries. This partnership can bring great investments to our city and generate employment and good salaries. I have no doubts about the capacity and greatness of the Brazilian and Catalão workers who will be involved in this process.  However, I emphasize the importance of all of us learning from the discipline of Chinese companies. A sum that will bring many riches to all of us.”

Continuing the ceremony, the General Director of CREC-10 in Latin America, Mr. Sun, thanked CMOC for the opportunity to work with the company, making a commitment to comply with all contract agreements and company policies. “CMOC Brasil gave us the opportunity to execute these three projects, which brings us a lot of responsibility and will be a great challenge. We will start our activities with the guarantee of full compliance with the contract agreements, and work with an efficient, organized and competent team to deliver all the works, guaranteeing safety, quality and efficiency”, he said.

At the end of the speeches, mayor Adib made the official announcement of the start of activities, communicating via radio with all the drivers who will work on the Mine Movement project.  After the communication, all those present signed the inauguration banner, marking the beginning of the partnership.  “It is a great pleasure to declare the beginning of the activities of CREC-10 here in Catalão”, emphasized the mayor.

After the ceremony, CMOC's board of directors invited Adib to visit the Mina's viewpoint and learn about all the company's niobium extraction and production activities.
