Young people between the ages of 18 and 22 can enroll in the selection process and choose between the Industrial Machine Mechanic or Mining & Chemical Process Operator courses. There will be 60 vacancies available and those approved will receive a grant.

Catalão, March 15, 2022 – Yesterday, March 14th, the registration deadline for the selection process of professional qualification courses offered by CMOC Brasil in partnership with the SENAI (Brazilian National Service of Industrial Learning) began.

The Industrial Machine Mechanic and Mining & Chemical Process Operator courses will be offered free of charge, in the afternoon, with 600 hours of workload each, for 60 young people between 18 and 22 years old - 30 in each course. Students who are approved in the selection process will be offered a monthly scholarship of half the minimum wage for the duration of the course.

The applications are open until March 25th and must be made in person at the Secretary of Labor and Income, at the CRAS (Reference Center for Social Service) or at the CCPA (Small Apprentice Coexistence Center), in Catalão, and at the Reference of Social Service (CRAS), in Ouvidor. The personal documents, proof of address, and proof of schooling must be presented at the time of registration.

Among the prerequisites, it is necessary that the candidate: has already finished high school or be regularly enrolled in the last year (third grade of high school), be between 18 and 22 years old, have a fixed residence in Catalão or Ouvidor, have a maximum income of one (1) minimum wage per family member, and have no relatives up to the second degree who work for CMOC Brasil.

The coordinator of Social Management at CMOC, Diana Mendes, warns about the importance of reading the entire announcement before registering, so that the young person can assess whether they are able to participate in the selection process. "This partnership with SENAI has the purpose of offering young people from low-income families an opportunity for professionalization," he said.

"Both courses will be open for enrollment to people with disabilities, provided they meet the other selection requirements. The candidates who are classified as PwD (Persons with Disability) will be submitted to the evaluation of the Occupational Health team of CMOC Brasil”, reinforces the executive.

The selection process will be divided into three stages: the first will be a theoretical test in multiple choice questions (Portuguese Language, Basic Mathematics and General Knowledge), via electronic form (Google Forms), with at least 70% accuracy. The 150 young people with the best scores will be summoned to the second stage - which will be a group dynamic, conducted in person. In the third stage, the 100 candidates with the best scores (from the theoretical and dynamic tests) will be summoned for an individual interview. Subsequently, the 60 young people selected for the two courses will be notified by email about the approval and must be prepared for the start of classes, starting on May 9th. All those selected will receive a stipend, with the amount to be informed in the selection process.

“This is an opportunity for young people from the local community to prepare for the job market. Catalão and Ouvidor have industrial hubs that house companies, such as CMOC, which lack qualified professionals for specific functions. Therefore, being qualified is essential in getting a job position in the companies in the region. The partnership with SENAI extends our DNA of Care and Respect to the community, providing opportunities for investments in education as a way to change the reality of these young people and their families”, concludes the coordinator of Social Management at CMOC Brasil.
